Course Overview

On this course, students will read and analyse the third novel in the Harry Potter series, 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban'. As Harry enters his third year at Hogwarts, he finds out Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban prison and is determined to kill him. A new, mysterious teacher provides a helping hand, but what is their connection to Sirius? Each week, students will study a section from the book, which will be read together as an e-book. Students will be encouraged to read the section in the week leading to the session, and the class will look closely at key sections together. Lessons will look at the key themes, motifs and symbols and will unpack certain important phrases in order to better understand the author's intentions. This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about the magical world created by JK Rowling.
