A comprehensive course, covering the first set work (Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love') from the listening and appraising component of the Edexcel A-Level in music. This unit equips A-Level music students with the analytical, listening and writing skills, as well as the knowledge they need to excel in a listening test, 20-mark essay or 30-mark essay on Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love' in the A-Level music listening and appraising exam. The unit opens with two introductory lessons exploring the context of the album, followed by three lessons diving into the analytical detail of the study songs, and finishing with a lesson on wider listening, essay themes and exam technique. This lesson series is suitable not only to all A-Level music students but also to those at this level who are curious about the subject matter.
