Lessons begin with a consideration of why it is important to learn about both science and the particular individual. The course also considers work that has been traditionally excluded from the general curriculum.
This course aims to teach ages 7-11 about the role eleven scientists had on the world today. The programme will explore and aim to answer some of the following questions: why is it important to learn about scientists? Whose work has historically been excluded? How has their work impacted society today? The course is broken down into eleven lessons during which students will go into detail about the lives of each of the scientists, their work and what they achieved. Each lesson will last for one hour. The course will include digital handouts, reference images and illustrations and reference videos. All students are encouraged to start a workbook.
