Singing is a natural act for humans. We are born with the ability to phonate, but we all do this differently. Have you ever listened to a singer and wondered how the sound that they are making could ever be achieved? What and why are they approaching songs in this way? Within this course, we will look across the diverse wilderness of genres within contemporary music. We will highlight the differences between each genre in how they sound, how they appear to an audience and how this is produced by the singer. Each session will home in on specific techniques such as cry, twang, fry, forward placement, vowel manipulation and projection, all while approaching voice practice in a healthy manner.
