Learn how to make your audience laugh! This course discusses comedic performances over time, the various types of comedy and how to bring laughter to an audience.
Everyone loves to laugh! For something that comes so naturally, though, making an audience laugh is far from easy. On this course, students will learn about comedy and humour across a range of genres, explore practical performance techniques and interpret texts through their unique comedic lens. Throughout this course, students will look at how comedic performances have changed and developed over time, as well as looking at the various forms of comedy on stages such as stand-up, sketches, pantomimes and more. We will look at older forms of comedy on stage to newer examples like 'The Inbetweeners'. After this course, students will understanding fully the fine line between comedy and comedic fails.
