Build the knowledge and skills necessary to master algebra at GCSE. Students should also regard this course as a basis from which to tackle more complex algebraic problems.
This programme will start with the foundations of algebra in order to build a solid foundation for students who will shortly be starting their GCSE maths courses. This course will look at algebraic notations and students will learn how to understand them and use them correctly. Time will be taken to study the different kinds of equations students are likely to come across and how they can solve them. With a strong understanding of the basics of algebra, students will gain the confidence to attempt the harder questions as they start to work towards their exams. During this course, students will have the opportunity to apply their understanding through guided practice until they have the confidence to tackle questions on their own.
