Learn the steps required to become a master of expression through the art of musical theatre. Students are taken through how to determine the character objective, obstacles and intention behind the words that they sing.
Intentions are the pictures of the future that drive the present action of the characters (Mitchell, 2009). Each student will learn how to confidently examine the text and book that their song is from, determining the character's objective, obstacles and intention behind the words that they sing. In addition, the course will explore private audience, imagery, given circumstances and mining the text. By the end of the eight weeks, each singer will have worked in great detail on their song and will present their song to the group with a confident introduction. On top of the programme, students may opt to have a bespoke, edited self-tape of their performance. This is a great opportunity for students to unlock the wonderful world of musical theatre, learning important, transferable skills along the way.
