Course Overview

One of the most challenging aspects of parenting is staying sane in the face of children's counter-will. In the heat of the moment, it can feel almost impossible to not end up in a battle that sees parents display the very same traits that they most detest in their child. A wilful child will not back down, and parents can feel powerless when no amount of threat or bribe will change the situation. The alternative is not to become a permissive parent. Instead, the goal is to respond to a child in ways that do not squash their wilful spirit, while at the same time remaining in charge. This course will give parents the knowledge and tools to create a connection to their wilful child with a strong connection and a solid understanding of what opposition is, what purpose it serves, and how to get the child to listen and cooperate without having to lose their temper and use coercive tactics in order to be heard.
