Course Overview

This course can be taken for a range of different purposes. First and foremost, it is for those who are simply interested in the topic and would like to gain a richer understanding of how medicine and medical practices evolved over time. Turning to GCSE more specifically, it can be used either to teach or revise Paper One, Medicine. The programme will look at continuity and change in medical knowledge and practice from 1250 till the present day, plus a specific case study on Trench Warfare in WWI. The lessons can be heavily focused on exam technique improvement or content-driven, depending on the requirements of the enrolled students. Classes will be highly interactive and debate is encouraged throughout.
