Course Overview

The period leading up to WWII was one of dramatic political upheaval and immense change across the German nation. This course can either be used to teach or revise Paper Three, Germany. The course looks at the chronology of events in Germany, from the end of WWI, the rise of Hitler, his securing of power and then how life in Germany changed under Nazi control. The programme can include exam skill practice or just be content-driven, dependent on requirements. Students will be given a background into the kind of environment that the Nazi's seizure of power took place in and how they were able to exploit prejudices and the ill-feeling that plagued a nation devastated by war and overrun with a hunger to throw off the shackles imposed on them by peacetime treaties.
