Course Overview

Global warming and politics have an enormous impact on the food we eat and the way it is produced; it is more important than ever to be aware of how our food consumption is impacted by these factors in order to allow us to make informed choices about our role in the process. This course teaches students how global changes and policy affect our economy and how new technologies can help address the issue of food sustainability. The lesson sequence covers food shortage and food poverty, alternatives to animal-based protein, how leaving the EU could affect our food supply, exports, imports, and how we can use our choices to affect change. This programme is suitable for anyone who is interested in global changes to climate and would like to know more about how they can implement positive changes in their habits.
