Teaching Experience

With years of experience working with children, in both a classroom and one-to-one setting, I have developed skills of working with children across a range of abilities and subjects. My style of teaching is very personal, making sure to adapt to the needs and abilities of different students. I am a big believer in the need to make subjects engaging, accessible and fun and bring this to the different subjects I teach.

I try and encourage group discussion as a way of building confidence but also to promote independent thought and analysis. With younger students, I am also a passionate believer in positive reinforcement and use this to encourage children to reach the best of their ability.

I have workshop experience with university students: I have previously taught workshops with graphic design students at King's College London and Huddersfield University. In these 2-hour workshops, the session was split into a 1 hr lecture and 1 hr seminar format.

About Isabella P

Alongside teaching, I am currently working part-time for a multimedia platform that drives change at the intersection of arts, activism and academia where I host art workshops with university-level students. Alongside my experience teaching in a nursery school, I also have experience working with children at summer camps, sports coaching and community events.

I have a combined background in history, art and development which has allowed me to use these skills in a combined approach to teaching which mixes learning with engaging visual content.
