Teaching Experience

I managed a large media studies and film studies department (Ofsted 'Outstanding') as curriculum manager from 2000 to 2011 before becoming a freelance media and film consultant. Since then, I have worked as an online and onsite consultant in schools, running workshops and providing CPD. I have worked as an examiner and moderator for many years and also run study day workshops for the BFI (British Film Institute). Since 2011, I have also undertaken private teaching, face-to-face and online, learners studying for a range of GCSE, A-level and undergraduate media and film courses.

About Robert M

I have worked in media and film education since 1998 and am well respected in my field. As well as teaching, consulting and private teaching, I also develop and market teaching and learning resources. I was a writer and editor for and am an accredited Into Film Practitioner, where my main role was using film and media to enhance the primary curriculum. My approach is assessment (exam) focused and results-driven. Sessions are proactive, utilising sophisticated communication skills, ensuring the student (or parent) feels at ease and comfortable in a safe environment. I use humour when appropriate, and I'm confident going 'off-piste' whenever necessary to the exclusive benefit of the learner.
