Education & Relevant Experience

Teaching Experience

Education is a huge passion of mine, and I have absolutely loved teaching my students, one of whom ranked top ten for A-level chemistry in his college amongst his cohort of approximately 350 students. Many of my students have gone on to study medicine (the University of Southampton, Imperial College London & University of Manchester), Dentistry (Barts and The London School for Medicine & Dentistry), Pharmacy (King's College London) and Psychology (Cardiff University).

I have been an Educator for over four years, accumulated over 1200 hours of teaching and taught over 45 students varying from 9-23 years old. My teaching career started back in my college in 2017 when I began running my own study classes for individuals in my cohort struggling with the new A-level linear exams. It proved a huge success, and as a result, I was gifted with the chemistry award of my college for achievements in academia and contribution to the department. I then carried on teaching 1st and 2nd-year undergraduates at Imperial College London.

About Safwaan S

Aside from teaching, I will be starting a postgraduate in medicine at the Brighton & Sussex Medical School this September. Having been through the vigorous process of trying to find my own career, I have since become passionate about investing my time into the development of students and helping them find their paths. Being a young teacher, I can completely relate to the struggles of many students. The most productive way to achieve high grades in A-level chemistry exams is to know the essential content, play the exam right and do all the practice questions. This is exactly the method by which I teach my students.

I also enjoy helping the community and have run multiple campaigns during my time at university, such as homeless drives, blood drives and care home visits. Being able to engage directly in different causes is a huge honour and something I would like to continue. I am also a keen gymnast who has been training for the last three years in freestyle gymnastics (the one that involves doing lots of flips and twists in the air). I almost see gymnastics as a way of creating my own rollercoaster, and the adrenaline rush is too good to miss.
