I started teaching my nephew to play the drums around ten years ago as a favour and found it very enjoyable. I was made redundant three years ago, so I decided to teach drums both from home and at students houses on a self-employed basis and have taught a varied range of ages from five to sixty.

Some students came to me as complete beginners, and others with a couple of years of playing experience, and I've seen some fantastic progression in their playing and understanding of music theory. I've recently enjoyed giving live video lessons alongside pre-recorded ones that I upload for them and have produced the sheet music to accompany these.

I just love passing on the knowledge that I've gained from both having drum lessons for many years as a teenager and also playing in multiple bands as an adult, including a twelve-piece commitments tribute, a Beatles tribute and a fantastic functions/party band, to name but a few, whilst regularly playing in my local church too.

I've developed a laid back friendly approach that fits well with my regular students and has seen fantastic results from them over the last three years as a full-time teacher/musician. I like to make things easy to understand and produce all of my own worksheets based on essential aspects of this great instrument, a lot of which are often overlooked in books available on the high street and in the sea of videos on the internet.
