Teaching Experience

For the last five years, I have taught GCSE mathematics and GCSE and A-level chemistry. I have a strong background in mathematics, as it has underpinned many of my modules at university. I have experienced a range of teaching styles in lectures, workshops and tutorials during my degree, which has helped me develop my teaching skill set over time. I am extremely confident that I can help students achieve the top grades they need with the experience and knowledge that my degree has equipped me with and my ability to form strong relationships with students. I can help students with challenging course content, exam technique and provide useful feedback as I am familiar with mark schemes. I always give students a set of questions to complete after each lesson to help consolidate everything they have learnt during that session.

Helping students achieve their goals and improve their confidence is something that I thoroughly enjoy, as it is extremely rewarding. I look forward to seeing the confidence levels of my students grow over time as they progress. I strive to complete every task I undertake to the best of my ability and consistently go above and beyond what is expected of me. This is reflected in my commitment to preparing effectively, allowing my time with students to be used as productively as possible.

About Lauren R

I am coming to the end of my fourth and final year studying towards a master's degree in chemistry. Last year, I completed a 6-month placement at the University of Sydney in Australia. My degree has allowed my passion for both chemistry and mathematics to grow over the past few years.

The results from my third-year research project were published in a research paper last year. I enjoy travelling and during my time in Australia, I spent some time in Cairns scuba diving.
