Teaching Experience

I am from Cyprus; I am a teacher with a specialisation in the Greek language, and I speak English and Greek. I have previous experience with online lessons. In particular, I have worked for an online university and taught lessons for academic preparation (induction module). Also, I have taught online Greek lessons to foreigners through various online platforms. I have worked as a teacher for many years, and I have taught a variety of subjects. I have a QTS and a primary education degree from the University of Cyprus and a master's degree in comparative education from the Institute of Education, University College London.

During my postgraduate studies, I taught Greek at a greek primary school in Leyton (London). My experience at the Greek school gave me the chance to interact with native speakers of English. I have taught a wide range of pupils, from those who have a good grasp of the Greek language to those who have never studied it before. Also, I was a teacher assistant and a Greek elementary teacher at an international school in Cyprus.

As a teacher assistant, I have assisted the teacher of the first grade in the management of pupils and the classroom. Also, I have provided general support and one-to-one assistance for pupils. Moreover, I have assisted the teacher in creating class projects, teaching material and hand-outs for students. In addition, I taught Greek to the native speakers of the first grade. My main focus was to enhance and develop students' skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as to enable my students to use the Greek language systematically in an effective way. I am currently working at a private English school as a second-grade teacher. This year, I have planned activities using a variety of teaching materials in order to create interesting and interactive lessons for the goals of 2nd-grade students.

As an Educator, my main goal is to motivate my students to do their best and extend their own personal limits. I strive to instil a love of learning and to make learning exciting and interesting. I am passionate about teaching children and forge relationships with them that help build a sense of confidence and enable them to grow as learners.
