Harry Darell

Harry attended Eton College and Bristol University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in modern languages in 2017. He founded Union Education Group in 2020 to embrace holistic education and provide partners both nationally and internationally with an extensive and bespoke service. He aims to add value to the curricula of the organisations UEG works with and empower students across the world through digital learning. Harry also looks to bring excitement and entertainment to the education process, believing that this will fuel student’s desire to continue developing academically, mentally, professionally and carry on seeking out new skills to learn.

Michael Le

Michael is an Msci Mathematical Science graduate from the University of Birmingham and a BA Acting graduate from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. After graduating, he gained teaching experience both within the classrooms and privately, helping his students enrich their understanding and inspiring them to continually challenge themselves. As is evident with his contrasting degrees, he believes in and advocates the importance of a more holistic approach to learning. Michael founded Union Education Group to bring a team of like-minded Educators together to provide accessible and inspiring lessons to learners in whatever subject, skill or career path they wish to pursue.

Chris Barnard

Chief Technology Officer

Writing software from a young age, Chris was already working freelance as a software developer before he left school. He went on to become technical lead at an early ISP start-up before co-founding a software development company, offering Software-as-a-Service solutions - initially working as Managing Director and then later as Technical Director, staying with the company for ten years. Chris has worked as a software engineer in a multitude of different industries, including live TV broadcasting, radioastronomy and building several EdTech solutions before joining Union Education Group. Chris takes great pride in producing software solutions that are user-friendly and innovative.

Timothy Jackson

Lead Designer

Timothy attended Cheltenham College of Art and Design, going on to graduate from the University of Derby with a bachelor’s degree in Design and Communication. Over the years he has gained a wide variety of experience in design projects with small to large-scale businesses both local and global. His passion is for solving and simplifying complex design problems elegantly and efficiently. With the team at Union Education Group, Tim focuses on making sure that the organisation consistently delivers both clear and concise visual communication. His design work extends across web development, educational media, and various promotional material for the company.

Amy Nguyen

Amy is a BSci Computer Science graduate from the University of Sheffield, along with a year in industry at the top IT Corporation in Hanoi, Vietnam. During this period, Amy gained extensive teaching experience, including supporting employees with their English skills throughout the organisation. Amy is an advocate for education for anyone and everyone and believes that with the team at Union Education Group, many opportunities can be created. A key part of Amy’s role is in the data management side of the company, making sure that the vast amount of information that comes through the website is presented correctly.

Charles Russell

Head of Media

Charles has significant amounts of teaching experience in a range of creative and artistic disciplines, including acting, filmmaking and photography. In acting, he is trained in all mediums: stage, screen and voice-over. He has thousands of hours of filming experience, including features, short films, trailers and showreels. He has photographed leading musicians such as Rag N Bone Man, Bears Den, Rhiannon Giddens and Frank Turner. In addition, he has photographed sporting legends such as Anthony Joshua, Eddie Jordan and Danny Williams. Charles oversees all filming and media at Union Education Group, in addition to extensively training Educators in this field.

Lydia Welham

Lydia read French and Russian at the University of Oxford. She has been teaching for over a decade, as an Educator, assisting in classrooms in the UK and in the former Calais refugee camp. Her love of teaching began with assisting the home schooling of her brother who has severe dyslexia. She has self-taught web development and wishes to help more women study computer sciences. Lydia believes that a love of learning can enrich lives and outside of academia she coaches boxing to empower people. She believes in setting students up to become lifelong learners, by building confidence and self-belief.

Patrick Fordham

Patrick attended Uppingham School and University in Oxford, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Management in 2015. Patrick left University and started teaching and he also worked as a volunteer on the island of Chios where he decided that he would embark on a career in education. He completed Teach First and graduated with a Diploma in Education accredited by Canterbury Christ Church University in 2019. With five years direct classroom experience, a passion for e-learning and engaging students in unique ways backed by the science of learning are his motivations for joining Union Education Group.

Jazmin Hodges

Jazmin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature followed by an MSc in Education from the University of Bristol. Jazmin completed a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status and taught at a secondary school where she was also deputy head of English. Jazmin is very experienced in teaching the UK curriculum against a range of exam specifications, having guided thousands of students through their GCSE and A-Level study. Jazmin teaches with a love for English, rich knowledge of the curriculum and a clear, structured direction towards progress. She is also heavily involved with the company’s resources and training programmes.

Arabella Jacobson

Arabella graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2016 with a First-Class BA in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. She is always keen to synthesise her background in psychology and the performing arts, to create engaging, compelling, creative lessons that suit the needs of the individual learners. She joined Union Education Group in 2020 and has worked with students in a wide variety of disciplines, particularly specialising in Maths, English and Psychology. Arabella has also worked as an Educator in a secondary school and a primary school, so is well-versed in the expectations and skills required for the school admissions process.

Zuzanna Kowalczyk

Zuzanna graduated from the University of Warsaw with a major in philosophy, specialising in anthropology and ethics. During her professional career, she gained experience in business, client relationships, customer experience and satisfaction. At Union Education Group, she oversees internal operations and communication between clients, partners, students and Educators, playing a crucial role in ensuring that the process runs smoothly. Zuzanna is passionate about the wide range of courses that the company has to offer and its impact on the education industry. Furthermore, she is heavily involved in promoting the organisation in Europe and making education more accessible to all backgrounds.

Katerina Theodoris

Katerina graduated Durham University in 2018 where she studied Liberal Arts, majoring in English and Philosophy. During her studies, she was the president of ACT, a theatre company, where she directed four Shakespeare productions and several modern classics. Following graduation, Katerina moved to London and completed the TeachFirst Leadership Development Programme; alongside teaching full time, she obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Education at University College London, specialising in teaching secondary school English Curricula. Having taught remotely as well as in the classroom, she became passionate about innovating the ways humanities are taught, and creatively adapting resources to suit online leaning.
