Course Overview

This programme will take students through an introduction to photographic composition as a way of visual storytelling. Students will be equipped with the knowledge to understand how to make their camera work to its optimum level and learn to create a scene that will complement this. Ever wondered how photographers communicate their ideas in candid settings? Students will gain the tools they need to master the art of composition and learn the finer points in the art of visual storytelling. By analysing the works of the industry's greatest photographers, students will learn how to apply the wisdom of almost two hundred years of photographers. By the end of this course, students will know how to use complex compositional techniques with relative ease, as well as learn how to accurately and effectively analyse a photo. This lesson series promotes critical thinking and deconstruction of artworks in order to create the desired image.
