Course Overview

Each lesson is divided into five parts. One: Listening and Speaking: Here students develop oral vocabulary using themes. They respond to simple greetings and learn and understand simple questions and instructions. Two: Phonemic Awareness: Students learn the letter sounds such as Aa: Apple, Ant, Ape, Arm. This section utilises visual and auditory activities to promote learning. Three: Emergent Reading: Through the use of stories and songs, students learn the skills needed to begin reading. Four: Emergent Writing: Students are guided through the development of concepts, vocabulary and writing. This aspect of lessons includes practice of the structures of the English language as well as opportunities to trace words and begin writing in English. Five: Review: The final part of the lesson is dedicated to reviewing what has been covered with the student and offering feedback to parents, as well as homework for students to complete.
