Course Overview

This course is particularly appropriate for jazz musicians looking for a detailed but more liberating approach than is traditionally taught in schools. In addition, those who have studied classical music and are looking to play jazz and/or enter the world of improvisation would enjoy this programme. This course is an introduction to the elements of improvisation and playing jazz music. The lesson series will look at how to simplify the structures we use to improvise and the structures of the music we improvise over, in order to help us be more free and creative and expand our possibilities!
