Learn the art of composing across six different genres: rock, pop, jazz, classical, folk and R&B. Students are shown in detail how to improve their composition skills.
Are you a musician constantly playing music written by other people? Are you always coming up with melodies but not knowing what to do with them? Do you have an urge to express yourself musically? If so, this course is for you. This course offers an eight-lesson programme that covers composition from the perspective of six genres: rock, pop, jazz, classical, folk and R&B. This programme offers an insight into the life of a songwriter/composer, the equipment used, the skills needed and exercises students can use to improve their own composition skills. The eight sessions culminate in a 'sharing' exercise where students will perform/show their favourite composition.
