Teaching Experience

Having completed the Teach First School Leadership Development programme in 2013, I have worked across a wide variety of educational settings, including the state and private sectors, in which I have held leadership roles, including head of department and Achievement and Progress Lead.

As my teaching career has developed, I have become more interested in the link between meeting a child's emotional needs and their academic development, leading to a foundation diploma in psychotherapy. This has supported my transition into a full-time academic primary Educator and developing specialist in dyscalculia.

I am self-taught in Ronit Bird's dyscalculia methodology and have supported more than five students with SEN needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. I have also worked with over sixty children in the classroom as well as on a one-to-one basis to support their SATs preparation in both key stages 1 & 2.

About Maria T

I am a patient and nurturing Educator with a keen interest in supporting children of all abilities to develop their character and potential that stems from being the eldest of four children growing up on the Hertfordshire/Essex border.

Following a love of school and pushing myself academically, I accepted a place at Durham University in which I developed fluency in French and Spanish as well as an interest in relationship building through two work placements in the south of France and Santiago, Chile.

After gaining my degree, I have pursued a career in teaching; working across key stages one, two and three for ten years in which I have held various leadership roles which informed the completion of a MA Diploma in educational leadership.

I now offer a polished and caring education service for key stage one and two children seeking to develop their confidence and expertise in English and maths. I provide carefully tailored lessons and materials to meet my students at their own pace and support them to become inspired and independent learners who enjoy meeting and exceeding the challenges of the school curriculum.

In my spare time, I am a keen walker and cook.
