Teaching Experience

I have three years of experience as a drama teaching assistant and workshop leader. I was teaching children to young adults (ages 4-18) a range of dramatic skills, including vocal work, physicality and breathing, and reading and performing verse. I particularly encouraged and pushed the students to be creative and think outside the box when collaborating and devising pieces.

I have experience teaching philosophy, with an emphasis on the student creating their own examples of thought experiments for use in their coursework and exams. I focus my teaching not only on the key theories for a given topic but also their counter-arguments and like to have a personal discussion with the student to evaluate such arguments coherently.

About Jamie S

I am a working actor, finishing my master's in acting from the Guildford School of Acting in 2019. My undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Nottingham has set me up with key critical thinking and evaluative skills, skills that I love to share with others through my teaching! I have been involved with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare Young Company and Playbox Theatre in Warwickshire. I have experience both acting and teaching acting during my time spent with such institutions.
