Education & Relevant Experience

Teaching Experience

I have over 500 hours of experience teaching privately, including 350 hours of A-level experience and 150 university-level one-to-one hours. I have also given mock interviews and tutorials to over 50 Oxbridge applicants over the last three years, and in 2020, three of the students I mock interviewed gained offers from Oxbridge.

In 2020, I supported a university student who improved his performance by two-degree classifications and achieved marks of 67 and 68 in his history finals. I am currently helping students prepare for their A-level history and politics, and they are working at or above their target grades, and one is achieving As/A*s.

About Maxim P

I'm a dedicated and energetic Educator and bring this same enthusiasm to everything I do. In 2017, I went on University Challenge for my college at Oxford. I am also ambitious to go on Pointless or The Chase (hopefully both) one day.

While at Oxford, I made the most of extra-curricular opportunities and was a regular contributor to the student paper. I also succeeded in being twice elected to the Oxford Union's governing body from a crowded field. The way the Union questioned guests rubbed off on me, and I remain curious and interested in everything in the world, and I bring the most up to date real-world examples to the fore in my role as an Educator.

While studying, I have had a range of professional work experience in the City and interned at national and international law firms. Although I now aspire to study journalism, these professional experiences of working for clients inform my teaching approach.

Besides my extra-curricular interests, I am an active member of the National Trust and a keen Radio 4 listener. Being interested in the world has underwritten all my achievements to date, and the value of being so is something I impart to my students.
