Teaching Experience

As a professional actor and singer, I have had the privilege of teaching brilliant students between and around jobs. Back home in New Zealand, I guest taught in schools covering subjects such as drama, music, musical theatre and directing, with a bit of experience working with SEN children and a lot of experience working with kids who didn't consider themselves singers! Since moving to the UK, I have been working with Stagecoach (including over Zoom) and teaching singing and LAMDA acting privately to both children and adults.

About Ruby L

I worked professionally in the performing industry for six years, with experience in acting, singing, writing, composing, producing and devising for both theatre and screen. Most notably, I worked on Les Miserables UK Tour 2018-2019 as cover Fantine, starred as a core cast member in New Zealand's longest-running soap opera Shortland Street and played the role of Magenta in Rocky Horror Show, creatively supervised by the cult hit's very own Richard O'Brien. My most treasured projects have been co-writing, co-producing and co-starring in an original musical 'So It Goes' for the Auckland Fringe Festival in NZ and co-devising the hit feminist show 'Flaps' with Bits and Pieces Ensemble. It is a pleasure to teach subjects I am furiously passionate about and have the opportunity to work with students as enthusiastic about the arts as I am.
