Fukuyama’s optimistic concept of the ‘End of History’ has long been debunked. Indeed, it seems today’s age is more fundamentally divided and gripped than ever before by political ideologies that increasingly appear to be profoundly irreconcilable. This is evident in the tumultuous politics engulfing America, Britain, continental Europe, as well as the geopolitical power struggles including China and Russia. This course offers an overview of these various ideologies which will help students to become more well-informed and better citizens of the world.
