Course Overview


This course on Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ allows students to develop a diverse range of transferable skills. Through understanding the play’s thematic nuances as well as the evolution of its protagonists, students develop their own ability to critically analyse literature. These analytical skills are expanded throughout the course, pushing students to explore the language, form and structure of the text with precision and detail. Through the series of lessons, students come to understand how literary and historical contexts influence stories and they are then able to incorporate this knowledge into their analysis of ‘Macbeth’. This course also gives students the opportunity to practice and develop their essay writing skills, which they will then be able to apply to a range of subjects and academic fields.
