Course Overview



Pantomime is a central part of British theatre, but what’s it all about?! Learn all about this wild and wacky pillar of theatre, what goes into creating a ‘Panto,’ and the performance techniques behind its colourful cast of characters! This course will delve into the formula and innovative background behind pantomimes and where they came from. Additionally, we will discuss the main characters we tend to find in pantomimes such as the Dames, Baddies, Fairies and the Henchmen. We will look at what makes these characters authentic and unique. Furthermore, this course will also look at songs and the importance of audience participation. After this course, students will know everything there is to know about pantomimes!
