Take a close look at the suffragists, suffragettes, the anti-suffragettes, political parties and their views, and World War One on this analytical course, which helps students understand this momentous period.
How did women get the vote in the United Kingdom? Why did it take so long for them to get the vote? This course will provide a crucial insight into an extremely pivotal moment in history for all women. The course will expand on topics such as suffragists, suffragettes, the anti-suffragettes, political parties and their views and World War One. Students will then be encouraged to participate, debate and think beyond the information provided, and also beyond their curricula in order to answer some pressing questions on these topics. Whilst enhancing debating and analysis skills, the course will also enable students to gain an overview of the exciting and momentous, yet often overlooked, period of the 20th century, which has shaped the United Kingdom.
