Course Overview

It's useful to think of healthy self-esteem and a sound sense of self as your child's inner compass. It's the navigation system that allows them to make choices that support them. It allows them to stand up for themselves, create meaningful relationships, give and receive love and have faith in themselves. Does this mean parents need to praise children more? Or enrol their children in all the confidence-building clubs and after school activities that they possibly can? Our confidence and self-esteem two different names for the same thing? If you feel unsure about how to go about raising your child to have good self-esteem, you are not alone. Many parents end up searching in the wrong places and doing things in the name of love that doesn't have the intended effect. On this course, students will uncover the reasons for this. During this programme, students will be shown how they can relate to their child in ways that boost their child's self-esteem and foster a greater connection between them and their child. Students will begin to see clearly how confidence and self-esteem differ and why it's important to know the difference between the two. By the end of the course, students will walk away with clear and practical ideas that they can implement straight away in their relationships with their children. Students will be equipped with a 'road map' for how to have difficult conversations with their child and be a lot clearer about what they are already doing that they can rightly do more of.
